Inspiring environments create inspiring thoughts! This week, I am visiting the Netherlands at the invitation of the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, not only to learn about the university’s cybersecurity activities, but also to see the research infrastructure and the working and learning conditions for students there. And I have to say: I am impressed by the opportunities and the environment offered to the students. This applies not only to access to technical infrastructure, but above all to the premises, opportunities for collaboration, the combination of leisure and study, and the links with social activities, as well as the libraries. Good scientific research does not happen in the ivory tower, but in the middle of society, as it should also be for society. This togetherness is lived practice at the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen.
